Lectures on the Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings is a collection of SGI President Ikeda’s last fourteen lectures. Through reading this work, we can deepen our understanding of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, the significance of the Lotus Sutra in the history of religion, and how a strong Buddhist practice leads to living a fearless and victorious life! Originally published in the Living Buddhism from the September 2023 through October 2024 issues. President Ikeda says about this work: “The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, which elucidates the heart of the Lotus Sutra and the essence of Nichiren Buddhism, is a compilation of teachings that illuminates life with the light of the most fundamental wisdom.” These lectures span the preface on the meaning of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo through “The Bodhisattva Never Disparaging” chapter. President Ikeda completed this lecture series just before his passing in November 2023.
